Installing SQL Server

When installing Sql Server 2017, Developer Edition, you can accept most of the default settings.

However, be sure to make the appropriate changes when you are at the Features Selection, the Instance Configuration, and the Database Engine Configuration.

These slides should be enough to guide you through the process.

Microsoft Imagine

Download the software from Microsoft Imagine.

SQL Server 2017 Developer Edition

Run the Setup

Unzip the .iso file (using 7-zip) and double-click the "setup.exe" file.

This will open the SQL Server Installation Center.

Feature Selection

Do not select all the features!

Focus on these features

Install the "Default Instance"

Add yourself as an Administrator

Also install the Management Tools
